Information About the Performance:

Guys and Dolls, awarded Broadway’s Best Musical Comedy, will be performed by the Carlmont High School Performing Arts Department. Featuring colorful characters, hit songs and a clever story line, Guys and Dolls is a delightfully funny fable of gambling men and the women who long to tame them. It all begins with a bet: high-roller Sky Masterson wagers his cohort Nathan Detroit that he can successfully romance the seemingly unattainable Sarah Brown, leader of the Save-A-Soul Mission. Nathan has his own hands full trying to find a spot for his “floating” crap game while keeping one step ahead of his fiancĂ©e’s clutches. The score is a treasure trove of hit songs like Luck Be a Lady, A Bushel and a Peck, Adelaide’s Lament, If I Were a Bell, Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat and the title tune, Guys and Dolls. Don’t miss this rollicking, audience-pleasing family favorite that critics call “the perfect musical comedy!” The production is directed by Bernadette Fife. Ame Secrist is the Choreographer, Genevieve Tep is the Vocal Director and John DaBaldo is the Music Director/Conductor.
